Birmingham Fencing Club Tournament Schedule

BFC has scheduled USFA sanctioned open fencing tournaments every year from September to May. Those that are posted so far include:

Local Tournament: Saturday, October 21th, 2017

RYC (Regional Youth Circuit) Tournament: Saturday & Sunday, January 20th-21st, 2018

Local Tournament: Saturday, March 24th, 2018

Types of Tournaments

  • Club tournaments are organized by an individual club and are private events. Results not reported to USFA , and no rating can be earned)
  • Open tournaments are organized by individual clubs and pen events for all USFA members (age restriction may apply). Results are reported to USFA and fencers may earn ratings.
  • Regional tournaments
  • Super Youth Circuit (SYC). Youth fencers may participate in one or more Super Youth tournaments, however, only the competition where the fencer earns points on the national point standing ranking. These competitions are one of the possible qualification paths for Youth 10 and Youth 12 events at both the March and/or July NACs
  • Regional Youth Circuit (RYC). Held throughout the season, similar to the SYC. But there are no national points awarded at Regional Youth competitions. These competitions are one of the possible qualification paths for Youth 10 and Youth 12 events at both the March and/or July NACs
  • Regional Open Circuit (ROC). Designed for the Open/Division I-A fencer who seeks competitive opportunities beyond the local and division levels but below the NAC Division I level. Other competitive opportunities are provided for Veteran (40 & Older) and Division II (C, D, E or U)
  • National Tournaments
